THE WRAP UP: 2 WEEKS OF SPORTS, DEVELOPMENT & GIVE AWAYS.Durban Africa Sports Club has just wrapped up two weeks of sports development in the Youth Sports Programme and training at schools as well as the hand overs to Mariannhill Street Children project and a new budding club in Stanger.

DURBAN AFRICA YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2022 UP AND RUNNING
babes1954@gmail.comSaturday 26th Feb 2022 saw the kick-off of the Durban Africa Sport Club Youth Program 2022. The first fully fledged program since the pandemic of Covid-19 put a halt to sports in Durban during 2020.
With various schools participating the turnout was great and the enthusiasm shown by the young learners was just as good. Students were taught different drills and training skills as well as playing mini games on the field. Next week we will continue to push ahead with the program with lots in store for the students. We thank all who attended helped and supported this initiative. BACK TO BASICS: FUN COORDINATION EXERCISES
Head Coach Babes Govender, set up coordination and exercise drills for the children of West Park School. The students thoroughly enjoyed it with all being able to participate well. Despite the weather conditions Durban Africa always finds a way to put the needs of children first.
LATEST: WEST PARK SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOL CELEBRATE XMAS
-The West Park Special Needs School in Malvern, Durban celebrated a wonderful Christmas party for over 150 students. Hosted by and in partnership with Durban Africa Sports Club the event was a success. Our executives would like to place on record to all family, friends and supporters who kindly donated in cash or kind for this event our gratitude. You have truly made this event special and a memorable one for the young children. Gifts and a meal were provided for all children including juices and ice-cream. Legendary singer, Michael John provided music and entertainment. We thanks you once more for your support and wish you good health and safety.

Durban Africa Sports Club Plant-A-Ball Initiative Continues
Back in 2002, Lucky was a pupil at Dawnridge Primary School Chatsworth. He was part of the Milo School's development program. In July, Head Coach Babes Govender met by chance with Lucky at Stanger sports field whilst DASC Secretary and Netball Coach was involved in Netball development. The phrase, once a coach always a coach came through as Lucky asked for help. Today almost 20 years later we managed to share our resources by sponsoring sports equipment to continue and build future stars at the Stoz Academy. Handover was done at the Curries Fountain Boardroom. In picture Maggie Govender DASC Secretary and Senior Coach Kercy Moodley handed over the equipment.

On April 19th, 2021, DASC team delivered porridge to the following organizations in their support, Malvern homes, Cheshire Homes and Chatsworth Hospice. Special thanks to Clinton from Tradeways Johannesburg.
DURBAN AFRICA VISITS REGINA PRIMARY, NORTHDALE PMB FOR CHARITY DRIVE
Durban Africa brings Christmas joy to PMB area
DASC in keeping with their CSI initiatives partnered with Gift of Hope Foundation from Pmb. This is in line of bringing joy and happiness to the lives of kids that are less fortunate and Christmas joy. The Club together with generous donors and sponsors from Chatsworth community donated hampers, school shoes, stationery and toiletries. This was handed over to CEO of Gift of Hope by the executives of DASC. Mr Anand Thaver President of club extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to all that supported this initiative in ensuring that we can make difference in the lives of our kids.
University of Cape Peninsula Research Center visits DASC
Jacob Monroe and Shaun Ketlie from the University of Cape Peninsula Research Center with members of Durban Africa Sports Club, Babes Govender and Belinda Joseph. Durban Africa Sports Club was nominated by DSR KZN on Silver Status as the best administrative club through the Smart Club Program. Babes and Belinda shared information on how clubs should be run with best administration practices. Monroe and Ketlie both expressed their praise stating "This club is on another level. No club is as ORGANISED as this". They also went on to say that they would gladly advocate for the club in the future. On behalf of the DASC Technical team we thank Jacob and Shaun for their visit and collaboration especially during this trying time of COVID-19. DASC will continue to move forward in the year 2021!
Durban Africa continues to spread HOPE!
Donations were made to Westville baby house yesterday. They were strict in terms of Covid-19 regulations hence drop off was outside. Thanks to Nirupa for organizing the donations and logistics.
Durban Africa handover face masks and tracksuits COVID-19 INITIATIVE
In the light of the ongoing COVID-19 events, Durban Africa handed over face mask and tracksuits to the St. Vincents Children Home in Marianhill. Although our annual sports event and fun day was cancelled we decided to invest in masks and tracksuits for the children at the home so that we continue our support and great relationship which we have forged over the years. For Soccer, Netball and our special projects including programs, workshops and related ventures for 2020 are officially cancelled! Due to the COVID-19 epidemic which is something we cannot control. Ensuring the safety of our children is vital. Our feeding projects will continue once the Lockdown eases according to government regulation. We will keep you posted via Whatsapp.

'COACHING WITH A DIFFERENCE'
Durban Africa Sports club was founded on a need to serve the underprivileged and the community at large via the interaction and inherent harmony in team sports. At this point the club is focused on soccer development with plans to increase its portfolio of sporting codes over the next few years. As an organization we seek not only to service the needs of the children within its soccer team but also is actively engaged with serving the community at large. To this end Durban Africa regularly provides recreational sports activities for various orphanages and community organizations as part of our Social Responsibility. Over The past 12 years the Durban Africa's club teams have has one won numerous Cups and tournaments, in both soccer and netball which is solid proof of the coaching and support structure within the club.
We are now focusing not only on Soccer but Netball and development with schools.
